O&M Raconteur/Workshop animator - Valletta
The first round of a Training of Trainers workshop, led by Airan Berg, the co-artistic director of the Orfeo & Majnun project, was held in Palazzo de la Salle, Valletta in December 2017.
Artists and creative practitioners from diverse fields such as dance, sculpture, music, visual arts, theatre, and much more, attended the sessions to eventually take on the role as workshop leaders who will be collaborating with communities as part of one of Valletta 2018’s largest participatory projects, Orfeo & Majnun, in October 2018.
The workshop leaders will introduce the themes and stories of Orfeo & Majnun to the communities and develop links between the communities and the project that enable communities to participate, across different genres, in a collaborative co-creation process, that leads to a final presentation of the communities’ contributions on the 27th October, 2018.
Airan Berg highlighted that the raconteurs/animators are key towards communicating the project to different communities, while workshop participant Miriam Calleja emphasized how the 5-hour workshop has inspired her to meet other artists and to eventually tell the story to communities.
