Brunnenpassage was founded 2007 and defines itself as lab and space for practicing transcultural and participatory art. It offers a manifold program of contemporary art in the genres of dance, music, theatre and film. All events are free to the public. Each year more than 400 events take place in the venue, which is situated in the heart of a functioning street market. The activities are characterized as formats for participation, inviting the local population. As a model art-social space, Brunnenpassage also initiates numerous co-operations with large cultural institutions in the city. Artistic quality and political goals are combined to create new collective spaces for a heterogenic audience, offering authentic and self-defined cooperation and participation beyond usual definitions and possibilities.
